Read it and Weep Tag

Greetings everyone! I thought, while I’m currently procrastinating, I’d complete a tag on the list of many tags I’ve been nominated for recently LOL. This one is actually really really neat, created by a fellow Creative Writing buddy of mine, Katie. It’s called the “Read it and Weep” tag. Thank you so much Katie! Go check out her blog guys–it’s definitely worth a read 😉

The Rules:

  1. Answer the required questions below.
  2. Nominate 5 bloggers (or as many as you want).
  3. Send the link to your post to the person who nominated you and thank them.
  4. Make 5 completely RANDOM questions for your nominees to answer (just for fun)
  5. Enjoy it!

Required Questions~

Are there any songs that make you feel something emotionally?

Oh there are plenty of them (*can be very emotional*). My top songs (that I can think of right now) that make me feel something would be: Dust in the Wind by Kansas, The Outside by Taylor Swift, America by Simon and Garfunkel, and probably the most emotional ones: Oceans by Hillsong and It is Well (LIVE) by Bethel Music.

Are there any books or stories that make you feel something emotionally?

Way too many to even think of! I think the most I’ve ever cried while reading a book was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Like, I was just so upset. The whole thing was so amazing and so upsetting at the same time. I couldn’t think for a good ten minutes after reading. I would spoil it, but all I can really say is:

Zy9TFL3

The Hired Girl by Laura Amy Schlitz is another.

Are there any quotes that make you feel something emotionally?

I don’t know, all quotes I come across make me feel something, but I guess C.S. Lewis quotes make me feel the most emotional. I don’t even know if it makes me feel true emotions, but I definitely feel uplifted and empowered with the sense of doing what I should be doing whenever I read something by him. So, of course: “If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, then the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world,” and of course this one. There are so many, but Lewis is my source for quotes like that haha.

Is there an event in your life or on the news that makes you feel something emotionally (that you feel comfortable sharing)?

Hm, I don’t know honestly. I guess when I moved away from my friends when I was younger, and I’ll sometimes think about them and whenever I contact them I’ll feel a pang of emptiness because I miss them. But it’s not too bad. When I switched to homeschooling is another(that was a huge shift and it’s changed my perspective on just about everything). Other things happening now in my church community that directly and indirectly affect me have made me feel, to an extent, emotional as well. (Sorry for being vague and ambiguous, but I don’t want to delve too much into that specific issue currently going on).

Are there any people who inspire you in life?DontDragYourself

Plenty! St. Therese of Lisieux has always been my biggest inspiration because I can deeply connect with her on an emotional/personal level; my ELA 6th and 7th grade teacher who believed in hard work and challenges inspires me to keep challenging my writing boundaries. She’s the one who really helped shape my essay writing abilities, and without her I’d be a lot less enthusiastic about essay assignments LOL. But she’s also deeply religious and really incorporated that in her instruction, so she inspired me on all sorts of levels.

Fun Questions asked by Katie~

  1. If you could go on a week-long vacation to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Rome! I’d love to spend time studying the ancient architecture and ruins there.

2. Do you have any stuffed animals?

LOL my sister has tons but I only have my stuffed bear named Cloud–he’s white with cream colored ears and a brown nose, and he’s very soft. It may seem weird I have a bear, but I got him for my 6th birthday from my dad and he’s just been very special to me ever since. He just sits on my bed all day long haha. He’s adorable. Will I outgrow him? Psh did you watch Toy Story 3? Andy didn’t outgrow his toys, he was going to take them to college so there! xD

3. Dream pet? (Can be absolutely anything that comes out of your brain)

I already have my dream pets: two small teddy bear-like weiner dogs, who never stop being cute and are great to cuddle with (although if they could stop barking at everything that would be great).

4. Favorite singer/song/composer/etc.?

Impossible LOL. I like too many song and singers. Composer speaking, I really like Francisco Tarrega (he’s a classical guitarist). A lot of his compositions are incredible:

(that’s not him, by the way LOL, he passed away centuries ago)

These guitarists are amazing!

5. Favorite book series or trilogy (no individual books)?

You can guess in the comments 😉 (y’all should know this on the spot hahaha). Props to who guesses it correctly first!

Nominations!

Now I nominate 5 bloggers to answer the required questions, and then my fun five questions I create.

My fun questions:

  1. Sprite or Coke?
  2. If you were to take on a new hobby, what would it be?
  3. Early bird or night owl?
  4. Procrastinator or ‘get-it-done’er?
  5. What’s your favorite kind of pie? (Key Lime for the winnn!)

Well that’s all for today, guys! You don’t have to do this tag if you were nominated, and if you want to do the tag but I didn’t nominate you (I know WAY more than 5 lovely bloggers haha), go right ahead and do the tag! Say I nominated ya 😉

  1. This looks like such a fun tag! I really like reading your answers.
I’m assuming your favorite series is the Chronicles of Narnia. 😉
Oh, and I totally understand the whole procrastination thing. Kind of happening to me at the moment, actually. XD
    Great post!

  2. Ooh, this looks fun!

I don’t do tags on my blog, but I’ll answer the five questions here:

    1. Coke. It tastes like chocolate soda to me. 🙂
    2. A new hobby? Fencing. As in, sword fighting. I think that would be exhilarating.
    3. Night owl, definitely. Though I wish I liked getting up early. I like being up early, but when I go to bed late, I can’t drag myself out of bed easily.
    4. I’m a mix of both? I am a procrastinator who gets things done (and done well) at the last moment possible. It’s terrible.
    5. Man, I love pie. Pecan pie and key lime are two of my favorites. And pumpkin. And apple. And chocolate pudding pie. And honestly any pie.
    🙂

Thanks for stopping by @ Scattered Journal Pages!
